Daniel R. Jenky, C.S.C., D.D.


He was born in Chicago March 3, 1947 and attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine grade school & later St. Laurence High School. Following his freshman year at Notre Dame University he entered the Holy Cross Father’s and eventually ordained a priest in 1974. He was ordained an Auxiliary Bishop of the diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend December 16, 1997. He was formally installed as the eighth Bishop of the diocese of Peoria April 10, 2002. Among his many endeavors he introduced the cause for the eventual canonization of Arch Bishop Fulton Sheen.


Msgr. Michael C. Bliss


He was born in Florissant, MO on May 7, 1961. Within a few years his family moved to Illinois settling in Wheaton, Illinois,  west of Chicago- thus becoming a Cub fan! He attended St. Michael’s Grade School and St. Francis High School. In 1986 he graduated with a BA in Political Science from Christendom College in Front Royal Virginia. In 1991 he graduated from Holy Apostles College & Seminary in Cromwell Connecticut earning a MA in Theology and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Peoria on May 25, 1991 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria, IL. His priestly assignments include: Sacred Heart Parish Moline IL 1991-1993, St. John’s Catholic Chapel at the University of Illinois Champaign 1993 – 1996, Saint Francis Medical Center Peoria 1996 – 2017 and is pastor of St. Edward’s Parish Chillicothe as of June 2017. He was named a chaplain to his Holiness with the title of Monsignor in 2007.

Monsignor has two living siblings living in the Chicago area including his brother Gerry and his wife Linda Bliss as well as a sister Betsy Mottl. He has six nieces & nephews. Both of his parents, as well as one brother, Steve, have passed from this life.

Christy grew up in St. Edward Parish, and attended St. Edward Grade School with her sisters Janna and Stephanie.  After graduating from Bradley University with a B.S. in Business Management and Administration, she moved to Chicago where her career experience included sales, accounting and administrative positions.  Before returning to St. Edward Parish, she served as the Administrative Manager for the World R&D Headquarters of a Fortune 500 Corporation and the Executive Assistant to the Corporate Vice President.

After leaving the “corporate world” to focus on raising her children, she returned to Chillicothe in 2005 to raise them at St. Edward where they attended St. Edward School,  she volunteered and worked as a teacher aide, aftercare supervisor, preschool teacher and currently works in the parish office.

“I am blessed with a supportive husband, Joe, and two awesome children–Claire and Ben.  St. Edward has always been our extended family, and we feel immeasurably blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful, positive and supportive people.”
